Stylishly Superstitious: The Evil Eye

Stylish or superstitious?  Maybe a little of both?  Historically, these talismans were worn to ward off the evil eye curse...basically turning or bending a malicious gaze back to its bestower.  I wear my Jennifer Miller evil eye bracelet every day (#6) and even though I don't consider myself all that superstitious, a little added protection never hurt anyone!  Accessory and jewelry designers are putting their own spin on the evil eye, here are some of Style Therapy's favorites:

Anglomania: Lizzie Allen

In honor of the London games, I'm dedicating this week to British style!

London-based wallpaper designer Lizzie Allen finds inspiration in everyday life.  Whimsical scenes depict the changing of the Palace Guard, the iconic British telephone box, city gents and even a jazz band in Central Park!  These hand screen printed papers would look terrific as a feature wall (I'd love them for a powder room!)

Bar Carts!

I have been obsessed with bar carts lately and I like just about everything from retro-chic to modern sleek.  Not just for parties, these chic vignettes add a little something to any dining or living room space.  They make great alternative to the wet bar and are perfect for smaller spaces where storage might be a problem.  You don't necessarily need a specific piece of furniture (I've arranged my own atop a vintage stereo cabinet with a few decorative trays!)

Put A Cork In It

1/ 2/ 3/ 4/ 5/ 6/ 7/ 8/ 9
I've always liked the natural texture of cork.  Fabulously neutral, it pairs perfectly with this season's bright colors and looks equally chic with your basic blacks and whites.  Designers are finding all sorts of unique ways to use this renewable resource, adding it to hats, home decor and gadgets.  Two of my favorites are the chic fedora from San Diego Hat Company and the gorgeous Robyn Brooks lamp.
