Hot Colors: Orange + Bright Blue

 I love orange.  I usually keep it simple, pairing it with simple metallic shoes and accessories, but have been wanting to branch out a bit.  Taking inspiration from a bright blue and orange chandelier, I put together a few items in this striking color combination.

Color-blocking 101

Perhaps you like the color blocking trend, but find you are intimidated by selecting separates?  A color-blocked bag or pair of shoes easily pairs with a monochromatic outfit.  One of the easiest color-blocked items to pull of is a top or blouse.  You can almost always add white or black pants for an instant outfit with maximum effect!  Try some of the combinations below...

Lemon Aid

  From butter yellow to golden sunshine, there’s a hue for just about anyone!

If you are hesitant, try pairing a bright top with khaki shorts or white jeans.  Navy also works much like a neutral and works well with just about any shade of yellow!

What to wear with colored denim.

When pairing colors, your best bet is to stick with hues next to or directly across from each other on the color wheel.  If this much color scares you, neutral tones and metallics (champagne and silver) are an easy fix!

Electrify your summer!

Saturated shades are the way to go this summer! Add an easy pop of color by pairing a vibrant bag or shoes to white, khaki or black! To try this season's colorblocking trend by picking two to three contrasting colors... maybe an orange skirt, pink blouse and purple jacket! Keep the rest (hair, makeup, bag and shoes) on the minimal side to keep the look modern and fresh!
